Vanda Lucknow
Default Vanda Lucknow

Purchased this Vanda last week.

I have been soaking for a few hours every night & have her in a semi- bright southern window.

Just noticed these sideways wrinkles on the leaves along with a limp leaf up near top and a small one that dropped this a.m.

Any opines?

I'm no Vanda expert. I'll wait until others chime in. But I thing soaking at night might be at the root of your issue.

I was keeping it inside of the house for the most part trying to gradually get it enough light to bring outdoors.

Temps inside between 70-84 degree farenheit with & without AC.

Charles is this plant bare root? It is a Neofinetia hybrid I believe, I refuse to call them Vanda..

Anyway, I have a newly acquired Neostylis Darwinara Charm Blue Star. It is bare root (a gozillion roots) in a 4” Vanda basket. This plant is a hybrid as well, Neofinetia falcata x Vascostylis Tham Yuen Hae. That’s a mouth full!

I soaked this plant as soon as I received it, for only a half an hour. I have yet to soak it again, only heavily spray the many roots and lightly spray the leaves twice daily. It has never exhibited any issues from shipping or adjusting to my indoor conditions from the vendors greenhouse. I purchased this plant from Motes Orchids, it was delivered on Aug. 22nd so I’ve not had it long.

I would not soak as often as you have been doing unless the vendor advised otherwise. I would also soak in the morning. Maybe you should contact the vendor with your concerns. These plants are pretty tough, I’ll bet it bounces back soon.

I’ve spotted a newly emerging spike on my Blue Star, hope to see blooms soon! Good luck with your plant.
