Your V.denisoniana is outstanding. To me, the second plant looks like a hybrid--perhaps something with V. merrillii in its background. Is it (the second plant) fragrant?

Hopefully Philippe will reply to your post. He's in Bangkok and something of a vanda species guru (but out of modesty, he may deny that).

Congratulations on your flowers. They're quite attractive.

Steve

Pic 1: Confirmed to be Vanda denisoniana - it is a species.

Pic 2: Confirmed to be a hybrid. I don't know the cultivar name.

I think it is a hybrid containing:

a) V. tesselata (Fairly sure. The tessellation patterns on the petals and sepals might be the dead giveaway.)
b) V. lamellata or V. luzonica - leaning towards V. luzonica; although, it could be both
c) V. coerulea (Maybe. There is a possibility of the hybrid having V. coerulea in its heritage, but I'm on the fence about it. The reason being is that the hybrid's petals twist.)

Maybe a denisoniana alba because it has turned white instead of retaining the spots and patterns on the petals. Maybe its just the way you photographed the flower and washed out all the textures and colors.

The second picture at first glance looked like a Mokara hybrid by looking at the root growing formation in the middle of the stem; but the lip is a dead give away. It is a Vanda hybrid= Philip is right it looks like a luzonica form but the colors are so vividly tesselata....it is also a strange hybrid because it is a small sized flower for a Vanda hybrid. Maybe in the second flowering cycle you might get a 5 inches diameter flowers.

The 2nd vanda is supposedly V. limbata. I got it from a very reputable nursery who got it during the mass-clearance of 10,000 orchids from the venerable Mandai Orchid Garden moving-out sale.

Some said it could be limbata x lamellata

Then I posted it on fb, an expert grower from Indonesia says it's V. limbata flores or a selfing/natural hybrid.

It's fragrant.

Did a photo comparison of the flowers on your plant and V. limbata and V. limbata flores.

Your plant still looks like a hybrid to me. To me, it looks nothing like either V. limbata.

A lot of Vandas are fragrant. Fragrance isn't a determining factor as to whether it is a species Vanda or not, neither does it necessarily determine the type of species.
