Vanda Udomchai (Ascocenda Udomchai)
It was only three weeks ago that the previous blooms had faded away. The plant has rebloomed in only three weeks. It has to be our hot humid weather responsible for the success of my vandas.
After telling everyone in my previous posts about our lack of rain for over two months and our water system and resoivar completely drying up and all houses having no running water, it has completely changed with us being in our rainy season. It has rained every day and night for the last 6 weeks. I never water any of our plants. Mother nature is taking care of that for me. Also, temps vary a lot, but we have had some welcomed cooler temps with the rain. Except for a weekly fertilizer spraying once a week or so, I do nothing! It is amazing to wake up early every morning and see how healthy all the plants and orchids look. I just sit and watch them grow.
Vanda Udomchai is a man-made hybrid that originates from our area of Chaiyaphum Province, so I am proud to have this orchid. It also seems to rebloom often!
