got this as a 10" cutting at a show a few years ago- from Kawamoto Orchids

she was in inadequate light at first, then i burned her badly, then i got it right.

this is the first spike- looks to be quite excellent and there are two nice new growths way at the base which will make for a nice big specimen one day!!! hurray

Kawamoto has produced that plant for many years. I bought one at one of the GNYOS shows some 15-16 years ago.

I received an HCC/AOS on a December 2014 blooming here in NJ.

Another grower in CA received an AM/AOS on an October 2014 blooming.

Just a word of caution, this plant grows tall. I used to cut it down every time it reached 6-7'

it is starting!!!

the color is exquisite and the lip is also really cool

i was expecting a little less "lobed" shape to the lower petals, more angular, but i still am quite pleased.....about 150 buds to still open!

That red is really eye-catching. Love the faint pattern, too.

if you have the ability (heat + space + light) to grow this, i HIGHLY recommend that you do!

this is "one" spike off the single tall growth

there are three other itty bitty growths forming and assuming they will grow to half this height in a year (based on the same curve as the primary growth) i expect at least three spikes and i cannot imagine what that will look like!
