Vanda root damage - will plant survive?

The plant will survive, probably wont miss a beat. No reason to cut the flowers.

That's less good, but still fine. If orchids couldn't recover from root damage, they'd have gone extinct a long time ago.

Damaged Vanda roots are very likely to send out branches and just keep on growing. So it will be fine - and there are still plenty of roots to support the plant AND the flowers. Now about that puppy....I hope that it is now well out of its reach!

Hello, Thank You all for response! you really shed some light and hope on this Vanda! She is now far away from the monster!
Also one more question - my flowers wich opened recently looks diffrent than that from Ansu. How mych time aprox it takes for Vanda flower to fully mature and gain colour? (Darker flowers are from Ansu and lighter and smaller are mine)

Atleast my dog isn't the only one getting up to no good.
I think he did more damage but that Vanda is still in better condition than what we get here in Europe after probably spending a week in transport and then get watered badly by the vendors selling them causing a fungal infection to bloom and then spend more time in the post (if bought online). If we get really lucky the greenhouse will throw in some free pests hiding on the plant

I think your flower looks nicer than the dark one. Seed grown vanda's will have some variations, they won't all look the same and although they can change their colors and appearance depending on their growing conditions I would say the difference you are seeing is most likely down to natural genetic difference.

Keep in mind that flower color and the intensity of the color can be affected by temperature and light. You might also have a clone which is naturally lighter. At the very least it takes a couple days for the color to 'set' after a flower opens, though for most plants you will see the form improve after it's been open a couple days, and not so much the color (unless it's a species/hybrid known for changing color as the blooms age).
