might I be overwatering my Vandas now?

I have been soaking my three vandas every night for the last five months in a pail for 1-2 hours each, the plants have seemed to like it as they are creating new leaves and have taken on a healthy appearance with a dark green stiffness to them on their base with a lighter green towards the top leaves.
They have produced new roots during this time through the winters end and spring beginning here but I am concerned with the roots lately as they dry out very quickly after their bath and some have become quite shrivelled although the vandas themselves seem fine?
