Watching my Neostylis Lou Sneary's spike

That is super progress. I have this plant too, it had two spikes, one spiked and blossomed. The second spike stoppped growing and blasted. So you are doing great by this plant. Congratulations!

Thanks Matt you make me so relieved I give those Neos my all and love it so for you to say they look healthy...well that is terrific! I hope I can keep them healthy they seem to love the lighted stand my husband gave me in Sept.

I know nothing about Leo Sneary so I am having fun with it. However, there is nothing more frustrated than a bud blast so I will watch it.

Looking at the spike, I think your blooms are going to be a very deep blue color. The spike on my plant when they were this size was a little lighter in color, when the blooms first opened they were a Carolina blue, and then faded to light blue with petal tips darker blue--like Ryan's plant--but not as dark blue as his. I also noticed that as the flowers aged, they became more fragrant, but only in the morning.

Since these are hybrids, I'm growing my plant like a regular Vanda--brighter light, warmer temperatures, more frequent watering, and weak fertilizer. You must be doing something very well for your plant, so I wouldn't change anything in your routine.

When I grow mine outside in the summer, our nights are cool, like low 50s, and result in nearly all blue flowers... Well, orchid blue. They're nearly devoid of white.

You guys really know much about this hybrid. I would be pleased with a bloom somewhere close to blue; maybe next year I'll try to make it the perfect color blue.

Just keep it cool at night warm during the day. Seriously. In Colorado it would enjoy 80 and sun all day and then 45-55 at night. Blue flowers.

That I will definitely do Matt you guys will get tired of me I never had two spikes except on a Phal which is also a big deal. Yup you will get pics.
