It is a hike. The winner had over 1,500 positive ratings, so it wasn't a novice bidder who got swept away with the bidding competition.

It is a nice multigrowth plant, almost as big as mine. They growth pretty fast too!

Default Acquiring Neofinetias Via EBay

There is another eBay vendor selling many "rare", single fan Neofinetia. I can recognize two or three of his offerings--Koun, Akebono, and one other....the rest I have never seen before. I am refraining from buying single growth Neofinetia--too risky to not have a couple of more fans to fallback on.

I want that Tsukasa-fukurin and, of course, the Kouen, the latter to replace the one I killed.

I know who the seller is, but I don't want to post her name publicly here.

Hi Jay,! I know the seller too....I have bought a couple of Neos from her. I just haven't come across these names before.

Did your Kouen die as a result of the furnace burn?

My former Kouen just slowly died, dropping a leaf at a time. It was extremely small to start with. Everyone has difficulty with Kouen, judging by discussion on FB.

I am no longer a member of Craig's Neofinetia Facebook page.

I am not surprised at how delicate this particular plant can be if not given the right amount of humidity, air, and water.

Two of the names in that seller's listings don't match between the Kanji and Romanized names. The kanji for the Houzankyou listing actually says Amami Shima, and the Hakuhou-fukurin actually says Hakuou-fukurin. (There's also the misspelled Myoujou nishiki, but that one seems to be a simple typo)

While I'd chalk up the Hakuou/Hakuhou discrepancy to a typo, the problem is that the seller says that the name means "white phoenix" The kanji shown translates to "white emperor"

Other than that, the other ones seem identified properly. I do recognize most of them through my searches through the Japanese web, but I honestly haven't gotten the feeling that any one of them are particularly rare or highly sought after.
