I know its kind of crazy... we always get a little cold weather and snow around this time but we've had several potent fronts now, although this may have been the most beautiful Autumn I've ever seen since moving here in 2006.

The plus side, sipping chai lattes by the fireplace while gazing out over the rockies, watching it gently snow. That is pretty fantastic to see. Also, my concerns about a "cool" period of my neos... completely unfounded! My grow space cools off just fine now and now I work hard to keep my warmer growing orchids warm ENOUGH.

I so miss Phipps I spent many pleasant hours there when my child was doing a medical fellowship in PGH. Visiting Phipps was as important to me as going to visit her.

Oh wow! I'm originally from Pittsburgh (until late 1980). Went to Phipps only a few times as a child with my parents to see the annual flower show.

Ok, so who got the Sedirea Japonica/MINMARU-SHIMA from Seed Engei last night....I tried to get it didn't win....very sad. I lurk here and have a serious Sedirea afliction....killed a few in the past, currently have two I am trying again. Kinda happy someone outbid me last night because I fear the Sedirea death and would be SOO very sad to kill a Sedirea Japonica/MINMARU-SHIMA....AHHHHH, but I SO want one.

Oh hey! I thought I was the only one skilled at Minmaru killing. Hi... my name is Ryan and I kill mini sedirea, too.

I did not win it-- didn't bid. I FORbid myself to get a shima until I can grow the minmaru successfully. So far I've held true to that. It's been a rough three weeks.

oh, and half that tank is on LED lights and will be pulling the 2 55w CFL in a few weeks and finishing it off so it has ALL LED lighting....super excited to see how the plants respond. There is one Sedirea and two Neofinetia in that tank. The Neo blooms for me, not the Sedirea

Notice the wording: largest tank. Means there is more than one...

Welcome, sbg - I've killed one Nagoran and TWO Minumaru-shima. Should rename myself the Sedirea Shinigami...

That's a great looking tank setup you have there.

A hearty welcome to the wild, wacky world of the Orchid Board Neo section!

Do you have other Neos, besides the two in the tank? It's perfectly okay to acquire several dozen more.

What kind of LED setup are you using? That looks like the 3' high Exo Terra tank, eh? I have one of those, but I only have a bunch of Phals on the bottom of it right now.

Noticed that ebay has been tweaking the interface in recent weeks. For a while the links to items purchased in buyer feedback went away. Now the links are back, but the usernames are masked in the same manner they have always been in the bid lists for each item. Now I can't be so newsy as has been my annoying habit.
