May be next time you'll get one.

While this looks like a larger multigrowth plant. I am so glad now that I picked up a much smaller single growth last year at a tad over a quarter of the price.

Yep, I got a very small single from ebay for 95 last July, but somehow managed to kill it.

This one does seem to like a different culture. Mine seems to like being in a basket and being watered almost every day. Last year I picked up one of these, a Shutennou and a Manjushage. I immediately put them in a basket with LECA to grow them the same way as I am a Neostylis Lou Sneary. The Otomemaru is the only one that seems to like it. The other two have not really put out any new roots, but the ones they do have have lengthened a lot. Their new leaves are very stunted also.

Last night, Seed Engei had their auction, about 15 plants. They had only one plant listed that I did not have. By the time I thought about bidding on it, I ran out of time!!! There were several plants that were not bid. I think there was a lot of watching but no one stepped up and bid. But those plants were over US$50.00 so maybe the price on them were too high?

Tonight, is another auction. There are a couple of items listed that looks appealing. There is a three set Dendrobium up for bid. And there is a Manjushage up for auction for less that $90. I have that on my watch list to see if it finds a new home.

Happy bidding (or not)!

Surprisingly, the Manjushage did NOT find a buyer. But these two did.

I was the only bidder. This must be the summer doldrums for Neofinetia acquirers?

I was a watcher on the Manjushage, but I just got my first three neos and don't know how much I want to spend on them...yet. Congrats on winning your two .

I don't know. I keep ending up with sniping wars with the plants that I want... I bid on the Beniougi this time, and it went from $35 to $98 in a flash during the last few seconds....

That is too bad, Hakumin. It took me a year to finally snag a Manjushage at a reasonable price. Beniougi is a popular plant, I'm sure it would be offered again.

New World has Beniougi listed on their site at 100 per growth. Seed Engei has 3 listed in their July list, ranging from 70 to 120, but those may be sold by now.

Beniougi was a plant I did watch out for since coming across it a year ago. Just like you experienced Hakumin--they started out reasonably priced but went outrageously high once bidding started. But I finally got mine in October 2013--it was listed for something like $29.99. But I persevered or got lucky.

It is not in full sun but in very bright shade. The red color of its leaves are getting brighter as summer progresses.
