Sometimes even if I want a plant I won't bid on it because I am just not willing to pay more for it than I'd pay if I just purchased it from a vendor. I figure I can wait for it to show up later. eBay is fun especially with Jay's commentary. Matt this thread you started is genius.

I've learned a lot from Jay and gotten plants I want in my collection for very reasonable prices. Thanks, Jay!

And Matt, a special thank you goes to you. Your childlike enthusiasm for all things neo fills me with awe and respect. The positivity oozes out of you in every post, even when Death by Winter occurs, and this attitude embodies why we love this special little cute section of orchids. If you were a neo, you would be a variegated bean leaf with ruby roots and triple spur flowers. Very special indeed.

I must admit I do about the same. But every now and then there is "that plant" that has something special about it that would convince me to go higher. But for the most part I don't usually go higher than the what a good market price is for the little critter.

Matt's triple-spurred flowers would be a special pink.

Thank you all for noticing my totally foolish and child-like attitude regarding Neofinetia. LOL! I have a very high stress job, if I did not collect and care for Neofinetia (and other orchids), I would probably be on drugs or alcohol. When I am with my plants they are in a very calming space and I find myself relaxing. These plants provide me a meditation focus and if I did not time myself I could spend an entire evening enthralled.

Jayfar needs to get out his internet intersect and find a tiger stripped, bean leaf Neofinetia with ruby tipped roots and Tsuke, pink, tripled spurred flowers. If such a plant existed my collection would be complete!

They are knocking it out of the park with those mature Neos full of spikes. I have no money for Neos....I have no money for Neos.... I will not be on eBay Sunday night.
