I'm outbid. I realized that one of the things that drive me to distraction is seeing red and the word "outbid". I bid a couple more times and still got outbid.

My opponent wants this plant, and I really don't want to make that person pay anymore for this plant. So I quit. There is a lot of psychology involved in the appearance of the eBay website. Not only do they employ strong visual stimulation but you get dings and email messages. And then there is the countdown function, beating the clock...no wonder people get carried away on bidding. I'm one of them, it seems. LOL
You are not alone Matt. Sometimes I just thoroughly dislike eBay for buying orchids especially when you know you are paying too much for some of the plants. I usually walk away.

Yikes! another potpourri of 15 plants from Seed Engei, ending Tuesday, November 12th--plain Nagoran, Nagoran-shima, Minmaru-shima, Dendrobium moniliforme.

Here is a real cutie-I'd get it myself but I've decided that minmaru do not do well in my care.

I wish they did better. I have a minmaru shima that is surviving but not thriving. And my chabo is dwindling. I do love them though!

For you guys bidding on Seed engei plants, I beleive there is a mistake on their auctions for Hime Seikai and Jukai, it looks to me like they have the pictures mixed up, the one called Jukai has the picture of home seikai, and the one called home seikai has way to big of leves to fit ! My 2cts... The solution is to get both to see

It's been a whole eight days since the last Seed Engei auction. They have eight items up for auction. These plants seem to be very in-expensive. I'm wondering if auctions are diminishing as the cold season settles in?

I noticed that as well Matt....lol...it is taking the fun out of eBay I love all of that drama. At least we are saving money for Christmas.

If I can recall they still sold plants during the winter months.

Now they've added a bunch for Saturday night too, so 23 total for Fri & Sat.

Since these are Neofinetia, I suppose it doesn't matter how cold it gets. It is very entertaining to watch the auctions and to bid on some of the plants. I'm now at the point where if someone has less than 50 feedback, I do not bid and hope for that person to win. But the bidders who have over 200 feedback, fair game. Bidding on eBay auctions is like playing video card games.

Of course if the bidder is someone I recognize from here or who declare their interest in a particular plant, I won't bid against you!
