I understand completely. There are several of us who have 1fan plants and they're 1 fan because they cost so much! Seikai is my 1 fan plant that I look at and wonder if it'll ever be worth showing.

My Amami group is truly my only neo success story. It has weathered hail storms and cold nights and our terrible dry climate of highland Colorado and it's faithfully grown and bloomed for me. When I put this plant outside in the late spring the change causes it to spike. Same thing happens when i bring it back in the fall.

Anyway they are tough. And Amami grows fast. So it's only a matter of time.

I would love to get more, but right now I am limited on space and money. I also need time to see if this one survives. I'm looking at investing in a countertop R/O system but that takes money.

If you're using sh and not moss, I'm not sure you really need an RO system-- the reason I say this is because in sh the media doesn't harbor salts and minerals as much moss would, which is why I think many suggest using ro water when growing in a traditional means. I do not use ro for any of my sh plantings, including my Amami Island group.

I've seen salts and minerals crust up on LECA too, so make sure to be flushing periodically. I think if you're good at flushing and keeping an eye on them, you'll be fine without an RO unit.

I didn't mean to suggest you won't get some build up but it takes a lot longer and proper sh flushing will prevent most build up.

Added three more Fukiran and two more Cymbidiums to my collection this weekend!

I had a great time at the SEPOS show and I got to meet up with Jay and Satomi again! I even got a signed copy of Satomi's new informational catalog! For those of you who don't have it, you need to email Satomi right now and get a copy!

First new addition: Fugaku. I love this plant!!

Quay, is that a picture of you and Satomi? She is either a very small lady or you are a giant? Or both? This is a beautiful Fugaku! Congratulations.

Your collection is quite exceptional! I hope one day to have as many beautiful plants (and pots) as you do.

Thanks! It's really only the one pot though!

Yep it is me and Satomi with her new book/catalog. You have to get one! It's full of great information in English and all together in one handy source! The pages are filled with pictures and pictures of different neos with the names and their traits. The photos are organized by eaf type. GO GET THE BOOK!

I think it's a mixture of both. I'm pretty large and she's pretty small.

Here's the next addition! This one is Yasuru-takakuma. It's a white tiger stripe with rough leaves.

And finally, the Hanagoromo. I originally picked this one up for Ryan and was going to send it to him, but it is so great that I fell in love with it! I'm still going to send it to him, but not before I break off and keep half of it!
