The advice given to me was plant them kind of high in the media-- i did this with an amami island grouping and it was successful at taking to sh and is now quite large (40+ fans from the original 8).

I could only wish I had that many fans. Its just one seedling I got from the Meyers conservatory. This is my first fukiran and its so small I'm nervous handling it.

I bought the small group at the 2010 Denver OS Show ... The spring show I believe. I think I spent 20 USD on it or something like that. I immediately planted it in sh as it was growing new roots. I planted high on advisement by this forum and it's been in there since.
