I have had this plant for about 4 years, got her as one plant in a 3" pot and put her in the 5" ceder pot 4 years ago with some perma agra as the media.

She is very happy with 12 plants and 14 spikes of which only 3 are in bloom at moment. About 15+ flowers per spike and also nice Neo. like sweet smell. This is a cross of Neofinetia and Vasocostylis, I do believe?

Easy grower, I-C-W, bright light and lots of water and food.

I found your post. Lovely. Yes I bought a tiny piece of mine after seeing an enormous specimen that must have had 20-25 spikes on it during my visit to a greenhouse. Even larger than yours if you can believe it. Fragrance was just as lovely as the display.

I'm very disappointed that my spike blasted. Does yours get any direct sun? What are your approximate high and low temps? If you don't mind sharing a little more info.

High and low temps. low 40f high 100f, I have a very open style greenhouse it takes what mother nature throws at it as far as temps go, I have some control over humidity which I try to keep high. I remove 40% shade from greenhouse, Oct. 1st - May 1st, I have a double wall greenhouse which helps the sunlight disperss more evenly.

I water everyday in summer and let things get a drier winter rest, I also fertilize weekly with a mix of things.
I use collected rain water and a tall boy filter system for my hose water. I hope that helps

Thanks Orchidbyte, that it does help. I wanted to know if my bud blast could have been the result of cold temps, I guess not if yours are get down to 40. I was thinking it might have a more vanda/ascocenda cold tolerance (or lack there of).

I hope to get mine to look like yours one day. But first I just want to coax a spike out into bloom!

Thanks again!
