Default Neo success at OrchidFest

Marlene and I got a pretty good haul from OrchidFest at Parkside Orchid Nursery last Saturday.

I scored a Phrag. Jason Fischer and Phrag. 'Bullseye', a new compact Phrag. from Woodstream Orchids. Marlene picked up an Aerangis fastuosa, Angrecum didieri, and Sarcoglottis sceptrodes from Cal-Orchid.

But best of all, I managed to snap up a beautiful 4-growth Neo. 'Suikaden' at a fabulous price from Cal-Orchid as well! I was on cloud nine for the rest of the day.

3 hours of driving and 4 hours of orchiding made for a long day but it was well worth it.

Cheers.
Jim

Sorry, no pics. Nothing was in bloom. The Phrags were seedlings, and the others are NBS; prolly next year. Since mine already bloomed and this Neo. wasn't in bloom, I didn't see the point to look to see if there was a somewhat recently trimmed spent flower stalk or not.

I'm just tickled to death to be able to get the Neo. I did for the price I paid.

Cheers.

Jim, you know some Neo fans appreciate the plant itself rather than the flowers although the flowers for "Suikaden" would be nice with a hint of green.

My "Suikaden" is not doing well.....

Whoa! You came down from New York???? I gotta tell my friends in my Washington, DC aquarium club about you! They think I'm crazy to drive 2-3 hours to go to an aquatic plant meeting. Of course OrchidFest is only once a year.

Any way, no my Neo. is a basic green bean leaf with a hint of green in the flowers.

Naoki;

Yes, I'm all about appreciating this plant over it's flowers. I love the curved bean leaf form and tsuke; I'm not sure about the greenish flowers though, so if it never flowers that'd be okay with me.

Sorry to hear your Suikuden is not doing well. Hopefully with time....

Cheers.
Jim
