Glad you enjoyed... the spur is wrapped up in the bud. If you watch it as the bud develops, the spur emerges first - with at least one kink, maybe two to get it folded up next to the bud. After it escapes, it slowly unwinds, and continues to elongate. The spur is typically fairly far along but not necessarily fully extended before the flower actually opens. It's fascinating to watch. For that little Angcm. urschianum, a half-inch (1 cm) flower with a 4-inch (10 cm) or more spur. So the spur started out packed right next to the flower. Pretty amazing...

The spurs are a still wonky but straightened out considerably. It's fun watching the spurs elongate. How long will they go??

They may straighten and elongate some more even as the flowers open - getting close, I think I see one bud just starting to unfurl.
