12V PC Fan Hookup

I actually went with s.kalima's idea of getting a cheap cell phone charger (9V). It was far cheaper than getting a transformer too. I will hook it up tomorrow, hopefully with great success! lol

My electrical engineer father has made me several pairs of 120Vfans that are connected in series rather than in parallel so that they aren't too forceful. They create a gentle breeze.

Just get a cheap AC/DC adaptor. My personal pref is the variable voltage ones -- allows you to adjust the speed of the fan.

As far as longevity, the PC fans in my large terr have been running for 3 or 4 years now 24/7 -- and they were "used" fans when I got them.

That's right Steve, any unused transformer will work as long as it doesn't put out MORE than 12V. Like cell phone, landline phone, or other transformers.
