and how are you getting it cool enough for the dracs?
Hi Tmoney,

The windows behind are facing southwest and the side window (not shown in the picture) is facing south. The Phal tank is placed in the corner of those 2 windows so the light that it gets is way beyond what they require so blind shade is controlling the sunlight. Right now in Mallorca no extra light or fans are needed for Phals, so I just leave the door of the tank open. We have absolutely perfect weather (see below)

However, in our very short winter (Nov-Dec-Jan) everything is going to change. The Phal terrarium had a glass lid and I fixed including a part of an aluminum grille for better ventilation (I'll post a pic). The lamp for all tanks goes on top of the glass, not inside. I got a 30W full spectrum from a cheap Chinese website (wish.com) and I have graduated the On-Off with a normal plugin timer. I used this type of light last year without the tank, just on top of the Phals.

The other terrariums have less light or fewer hours of light. Also, under the tank of the Phals, there are 2 heating mats that I'll probably use in Dec-Jan.

All tanks have Fans, the Phals a 6V Terra Fan brand, placed so that the air bounces off the glass in front and thus not have 2 fans in that terrarium, my intention is to just water once a week in a traditional way (water bath) since the Phals are all in pots.

The rest of the tanks, which are heavily irrigated by an automatic system have 2 have (depending on the side of the tank, either 6V or 8V), one is placed inside moving the air from the bottom of the tank and another that brings air from outside through the slots at the top.

For lowering the temperature (cooler) for masdies and dracs I just drop on top of the lecca a frozen cold gel bag once a day in august I dropped ice directly. it works!

I'll share some other pics of the setting or a video, as soon as I have time to do it.

Natural conditions, right now:

Dracula Felix in Bud! I can believe it ...this little one has given me lots of trouble even in the best condition possible. Hope the bud will open

bulbophyllum lasiochilum
This little one needs a lot of light, is at the top of the Rain Forest terrarium.

It is not a very pretty flower, they are supposed to come out multiples, but I only have 3 bulbs and I cannot let it grow very much due to a space issue. In that tank, there are 3 kind of bulbophyllum

I think that there will be "action" much sooner than that.. one bud close, but I think also see another spike on the way.

I am so sorry i didn't replay to this question ...didn't see it before 💔

I use a twin set (2 lights) 23W full spectrum triple color led, 40" from SanLight. The actual intensity in Footcandle is +650Fc. That is additional to the natural light of the windowsill.

This peace is from the rain forest tank... I am in love 😍 with it! And flowers constantly
