OMG WaterWitchin, those are adorable.

I do not have enough money (or time, really) to take care of more creatures!! I need to keep telling myself this.

But to join the hijacked conversation, my family and I have recently become addicted to Youtube fish tank videos- I highly recommend FishForThought, FootheFlowerhorn, and SerpaDesign (though he does more terrariums). Not sure if they are super educational, but we find them entertaining or relaxing.

i use a magic scrubber lol

i used to have a Japanese algae eater but i could not give her enough algae and had to feed her supplemented pellets and i realized that was counter productive so i rehomed he to a friend whose tank gets sunlight and has MAJOR algae issues

Ramshorn snails are really pretty but they are not great algae eaters

You would love shellies. They're tiny, and like little territorial bulldogs. And they spit sand everywhere. Super cool fish.

I try to avoid talking about aquariums, as I have numerous in my garage. I've not had one set up in the house now for coming on three years this fall. The longest I've gone without an aquarium since I was a teenager. Once I start thinking about it...well, you know how that goes.

Algae where ES? If it's on glass I plan on looking through, I'm the best algae remover. If it's on plant leaves I like Otocinclus catfish. Anywhere else and I normally don't give it a thought unless it's a problem species like black beard.

That’s the name I was trying to remember! Otocinclus! Yes, super good for plant cleanup... don’t play well with cichlids. I forgot about me and my cool Piranah algae scrubber? Excellent call. Wasn’t even thinking glass... rocks and sand sifting (nerites).

Shall I pull out my blackbeard algae bloom pics? Guaranteed to horrify!

On plants and, to a degree, fake rock aquascaping. I use a pot scrubber on the glass.

Aquarist forums are like orchidjst forums. If I ask there "Snails or algae eating fish?" everybody would respond "You need both!"

The Otos are top of line for plant algae. What else is in the tank?

It's a 75 gallon / 283 liter tank with four largish Dennison's barbs I've had about 7 years.
