Default Semi/Hydro and Fertilizers, KLN Rooting Concentrate

I got my Semi/Hydro kit from First Rays rochdis. I've got some Prime agra soaking in water. Do I add Liquid Orchid Fertilizer, or do I add Dyna-Gro K-L-N Rooting Concentrate. And when?

Thanks!

I'm gonna repot my Dtps. which stopped blooming about 3 weeks ago. (Gosh, time flies!)

add the kln to the presoak. then once you pot up, use the kln for the first watering. for each subsequent watering, use the liquid orchid fertilizer at 125 ppm N (2.5 tsp/gallon for the bottle I have, check yours though).

Ok added three teaspoon fulls. Mixed it with my hand. (will roots sprout out my hands now? lol).
For the liquid fert. it says for 100ppm N, use 2 tsp. Why do you suggest 125ppm N? I don't know anything about this, so thats why Im asking.

Thanks!

My S/H supplies arrived on Tuesday and my clay is soaking right now as we speak.
I'm planning a bit of an experiment with 2 phals of the same cross, the 2 Phal. Maki Watanabe that I got cheap at Rona. One will go into S/H culture and the other one was recently repotted into bark, moss, charcoal blend. Lets see how they do!

Other things going into S/H:
- make up a compot of phal seedling
- make up a compot of paph seedlings
- repot my Phrag. Olaf Gruss
- repot my other paphs (there is four, I think!)
- repot a cattleya or two.

if you look at the articles on Ray's website about fertilizers/plant nutrition, they suggest 125 ppm. They're pretty long, technical articles, and deal with a lot of chemistry stuff, but that's the conclusion. apparently a few years ago they did a big controlled study with a number of plants and different fertilizer concentrations, and that gave by far the best results. anyway, I'm trusting the articles for now, and we'll see how it goes!

oscarman, I'm interested in seeing how your side-by-side comparison works out. I was thinking about doing that with the catt I divided, so that I had a control group, but I decided not to for various reasons (among them not having any "standard" potting supplies right now).
