Has anybody ever grown a plumeria in s/h? I was thinking of giving it a try.

I have fairly good luck with coconut chips, charcoal, peat, vermiculite, crushed seashells ...

Personally, I have not, but I have several customers that do, and they are thrilled with the results.

Pretty much anything terrestrial can be grow that way with no issue.

I thought plumeria was a tree? The ones I've seen in Hawaii are quite large and folks use them as part of their landscaping. You'd need a pretty big s/h pot to keep it happy.

Yes it is a tree but I often have dilusions of grander, It is realy just a twig now, It is just that my orchids have done so good that why not try other things.

Interesting idea, I have a couple of plumies but i wouldn't want to risk losing the root system that took a whole season to grow. If you're starting from a twig though, i don't see why not.

I have never seen ANY terrestrial plant lose it's root system going into S/H culture.

While the roots of terrestrials do tailor themselves to some degree, it is not as extreme as in orchids and they are not as demanding of breathing space as are orchids. Not only that, their roots grow a lot faster, making adaptation occur at a rapid pace.
