I always look for plastic before glass. Cheaper and easier to drill. Besides, most glass containers I've seen are poorly shaped, having too many curves or being necked-in.

Last time I shopped, I did find a nested stack of 5 plastic food storage containers - 4" up to 8" - for $1.

I admit it! And apologies for dredging up this old thread.

Almost all of my orchids that are in S/H live in the short version of these glass vases from Dollar Tree. I ordered two cases of them, and other than the “learning curve” with using my diamond drill bit on an item that really didn’t want to hold still during the modification, I am really happy with how they turned out.

What does kinda suck is that I also ordered several hundred of the plastic take-out containers (in two sizes) a couple weeks before I placed the order for the vases at Dollar Tree, and the vases arrived at my home before the plastic take-out containers. If I knew how easy it was to modify the glass vases, I would have stuck with those; plus, the glass looks so much nicer than the plastic. I have found some other uses for the plastic, but I’m pretty sure that when I’m on my way to the Great Greenhouse in the Sky, I will have a bunch of plastic containers, filled with Seramis, coming right along with me!

I hope you wash it first. Fish fertilizer smells terrible.

It's kitty treats. And yes, they smell terrible. But the cats seem to like em!
