I was doing some online shopping and founds some 1 gal paint buckets (2.50) and 2 gallon Lowes buckets for 4$.

the 2 gallon is awesome for big spreaders and they should last forever based on my prior experience with the lowes 5 gal buckets

here is my Max coconut - leaves are 20-30 inches long

Dollar stores have lots of interesting things. Ultraviolet light is a problem with a lot of plastics. Many hardware stores, like Ace, sell sturdy plastic paint containers (no handles) in 1, 2 and 4 quart sizes.

I know this is an older thread, but if you have a Wendy's or similar fast food joint nearby, you might hit them up for their empty pickle buckets. A 5 gal bucket like you get at Lowe's, et al, And they give them away because they throw them away.
