WeirdGuySeattle, Dendrophylax funalis can grow outside here in Southern California, lindenii can't. This is simply because lindenii needs a lot more humidity than funalis. So lindenii is better...

How hot did it get at your place? In my area it got 114F! Any of my orchids that got some direct sun were burnt... most survived though. A few did not.
