Peter, I have moved this plant out of semi-hydro mainly because it had become so large, most of the pot was a giant ball of roots and they started to rot...

Can I ask why are you stacking? With the lens you have you should be able to get the same result (or even deeper DOF) if you close to f:22 (but of course will need more light)
