I bought a Vanda javierae from Martin Motes a few years back. It bloomed as V. barnesii. I asked him if he ever saw it in bloom, and he said no. I sent him a photo and he agreed it was V. barnesii....

Not 'ludde'; horns absent. Does it have a double sheath or single? Labiata and Warscewiczii have double, but other species can throw a double from time to time, too.

I'd fasten it to the tree, but keep the bottom...

I'd fasten it to the tree, but keep the bottom portion (with roots - hopefully) in a large pot with a very open mix of bark and hapuu to give the roots some moisture until the roots on the upper part...

I grew mine in full sun, and they usually get about 7 1/2 ft tall, and if they are really happy the inflorescense will branch so I would have 4 blooms open at once per plant.

I've argued with 'highly-informed' orchid folk before - only from a very informed position, though - and have been proven to be correct on almost all occasions. I just use lots of tact, and it helps...
