Howdy, been a while :)

V. merrillii var. compactum has taken me 4+ years to flower. Appears to be same size flowers as normal plant but far less of them, (like 1 only, maybe 2 per spike).

Maybe add charcoal or perlite to your mix? I usually add charcoal if needed for extra moisture retention. Some crushed tree fern is good too.

1st time spike for this particular plant, gets a high amount of light and appears to be fairly compact, currently same size as my citrina, not sure how large it will get though.
