Awesome! I bought a vanda flask from Carmela's last summer. The plants are thriving. It has definitely been a great experience. My compots are starting to get a bit crowded, but I not complaining about that!

Good luck with them!!!

Your granddaughter is so cute! Perhaps she could be a little (or big) helper?

Seriously though, are you planning to grow all those babies to adult size? They will really take up a lot of space.

Nice flasks with apparently no jumbling.

Awesome and then...WOW!...Awesome!

I've got a greenhouse that looks exactly like that. Got it from Big Lots for $25, it's a great buy for sure and fits a fair amount of plants. I believe the shelves are what 4' wide by 2' deep...?

What an exciting endeavor, I wish you all the best of luck and do keep us posted.

The granddaughter is moving out with her mommy next month so she will only be able to help for a little bit of time. She is excited I am sure when they get big enough she will be getting a few also.

Raising them to adults not sure about that, depends on how many there will be in the flask and how many survive. There is 5 of us splitting them all.

At that price you should of grabbed 2. I spent a bit more on mine. Didn't know Big Lots even carried them. I will have to go check them out. I will need a nursery a bit warmer then what the others may need. for a while.

You're going to be a great orchid mommy
I hope I will be a great mommy to them all. Also Ny just said they got the same greenhouse as I do from big lots for a lot cheaper then what I paid for mine. I will have to check them out to.

Took the post right outta my mouth!!! Cept I spell it WOWZA.

Where do you have the room to grow from flask??? Or....the time?

Re Carmela......I remember at my fist NY Show.....their table had dense waiting lines all around it unlike no other table. I never got even close, which I am positive was a blessing. I was so impressed that they came form so far away!!!

I get you guys are moved by major Laelia content.

The very best of luck with this endeavor!!!!

With my MS I can't work and with my daughter and granddaughter moving out next month I will have plenty of free time to be a great mommy to all the babies I have now.

Do you have one of each of the orchids that were named on the list? I would love to get a real full size green house and really grow them. But that would kill me running in and out side all the time. But it would be a happy death... hehehe

I set up my shelf last night and hooked up a light for the orchid seedlings. I'm not sure how much light they will need, but I bought a light fixture with 4 T5HO blue bulbs.

Halee that looks really good but you may need another tray.

---------- Post added at 07:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:33 PM ----------

All the Flasks are now deflasked and we have lots of babies. I will add a few pictures tonight or tomorrow as I am now trying to get mine into some trays. Was up last night late ( 2 am) working on deflasking and worked on the rest all day today. Taking a break right now as I am very tired.

If you are running around for your chids, you are not growing them but fussing over them. Fussing has killed more orchids than neglect.
