Need a fast reply! Do I pack a flask in hold baggage or carry on?

Hi all!!
I'm in Indonesia on vacation, and have just bought my first flask from a grower here.

Just one question though, when flying back to the UK, should I absolutely put it in carry on, or do you think I can get away with putting it in my hold baggage? The slight complication is that I have a day long layover and I don't want to walk around Dubai with flask!!
I'm so excited about my little orchids, and don't have anyone here who understands except you guys!
