Question Need advice on when to remove keki from mother plant

Yeah just need some advice on weather this keki is ready to remove, if not what should i look for to know when it is ready.

I'd wait until it stops blooming. The roots are long enough to sustain it though it's rather small. On the other hand... if you just leave it, just another source of flowers. You'd definitely need to keep it warm. Generally I don't like to start keikis or divisions in winter - even if you can keep it warm, days are short so growth would be slow. Constder waiting until spring.

Actually, this is sorta a 'hybrid keiki'. The roots are coming from the base of a flower spike, which has fattened up somewhat, but not set any leaves.

I suggest that you wait till it produces a new growth (with leaves).

i'd consider leaving it.

for me, i only remove keikis if it on the end of an infloresence and that is now dead or too far from the rest of the plant to be contained OR if i want more plants elsewhere or to give away etc


i like the colony look of complex orchid specimen and i have the space to allow for it.

in this case, the positioning is so parallel and also so low you get the best of both, more resources for the plant AND it will look a lot like a basal growth in a year

just another thought
