Propagated Monkey Face Seeds-What to do next?
Question Propagated Monkey Face Seeds-What to do next?

Namasté Beautiful Humans!
My name is Love Walker and I'm new to establishing an orchid collection. I recently got some Monkey Face Orchid Seeds and they have propagated. I'm looking for help on what type of mulch/moss/potting to transfer them to. All advice, guidance and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
I understand 70-75 degrees is ideal for the next step,
I'm in San Diego CA, but not sure how to take care best with these tiny guys.

Help.

Hi Love, welcome to the board. I suspect you have been scammed, where did you get the seeds? Growing orchids from seeds in most cases takes a lab as most orchid seeds don't have an endosperm.

Oh bummer... I wonder what I ended up with. they have sprouted something green. The seeds themselves were the size of a flea...maybe smaller. I will keep them moist and out of the direct sunlight and see what happens. Hopefully, it's something beautiful

I was just trying to figure that out. When I click on the image icon it asks for a URL, but i don't have that for the images on my lap top. I'll see if I can find one online that looks the same

I think you actually need 5 posts to insert a picture if I remember correctly.

Welcome to Orchidboard!

The number of posts needed before being able to post photos is said to be 5, but some people seem to be able to do it earlier... The image icon is indeed to insert links, but you can also upload photos. To do that, under the reply box at the bottom of the thread you click on 'go advanced'. This brings you to a reply box with much more options. If you scroll down, you will see additional options where you can click on 'manage attachments'. From there you can attach photos.

As a note, if the photo(s) don't attach either add fewer at a time (if posting several) or resize the photo (if posting one). Vertically oriented photos will appear sideways once uploaded. This is a bug that has become a permanent forum 'feature'.

Default monkey face seeds?

these are the seeds that sprouted. You may have to zoom in to see it better as the sprouts are tiny and the photo is not great quality.

But let me know what you all think.

Ohh Love .. monkey faces from seeds doesn't seems right, even the nurseries got the Dracula's from import division as far as I know.

However, you can grow what you have and seeing what is it!

Welcome.

Welcome Dr Love.
I too remember seeing the monkey face seeds and thinking that is strange as other have pointed out you need a lab to sprout orchid seeds.

What you have there is most likely some sort of cress.

I once bought some blue strawberry seeds. They turned out to be some kind of weed. Blue strawberries don't exist even though I thought the idea was sweet but I'm no good at growing regular strawberries, not sure what I was thinking trying out some blue ones. Didn't help they weren't what they were supposed to be.
