Fertilizing question

When watering your orchids in a fertilizer solution..

is it better to soak the pot (with slots) in the fertilizer solution or just pour it into the bark?

reason why i ask is i've been just pouring it into the pot and not sure if this just flushes it all out or does it get absorbed by the plant?

I prefer to pour the solution through the pot. I believe that really soaking a pot may lead to root damage from rot. Pouring through (in my estimation) brings O2 along with the solution to the roots. Just my 2 cents.

My 2 1/2 cents, (inflation), I agree with Ross.
