Odd colouring of one tetraspis C1 leaf

Hmmmm, just curious about this one leaf's weird colouring. I do feed a cal/mag supplement, so it shouldn't be discoloured from a deficiency.

Find it interesting that it's just one leaf showing odd colouring. Plant seems quite healthy.

What do you think is going on? Have you seen this before? Strangely, I kind of like it's personalized variegation.

It almost seems like a case of borderline sunburn.

Thanks for answering PaphMadMan.

Really?!! I wasn't expecting that answer. You mean, like maybe the leaf became too warm? Overheated, but didn't actually get scorched? :scratchhead:

It is on an East windowsill, so it will get sun in the morning, but I've not had any orchid (phal, paph or otherwise) actually burn in that window.

It's not like Vancouver is a heatbed of the world. ;)

Can't be absolutely, but...

Sometimes in fall, as the angle of the sun in the sky gets lower, direct sun reaches further from the window or starts to hit different leaf surfaces head on. Also, any shade from outside decreases as leaves fall. One bright clear morning could do it. Doesn't look like serious damage. As a precaution, turn plants so particularly broad flat surfaces like that are not facing the window.

Hmmm, interesting. It's possible this happened earlier in the year as the leaf has been like this for quite some time. I do turn my plants, but this was a young'un when I got it in March, and the leaves were absolutely without blemish of any sort and beautifully shiny (the nicest leaves I've ever seen on a phal). So perhaps those tender leaves (and this one in particular) just didn't like the change from a protected greenhouse in Taiwan to my windowsill.

Otherwise, it's doing really well, growing lovely roots and two inflorescences, which I'm guessing probably won't bloom now until next year. Oh, the torture!

You mean anticipation. Torture is when there aren't any bloom spikes.

You're right! But the anticipation IS torture. ;)
