Gongora fulva (tricolor)
5 Attachment(s)
Also disputed to be Gongora quinquenervis, this Gongora from Costa Rica and Panama is found very close to sea level. It is a great plant if certain conditions are met and can eventually make extremely impressive hanging displays. Definitely not the most impressive display this year but nice nonetheless.
There is a neat article on Gongoras published by the American Orchid Society. Here's the link: Gongora Gongora fulva (tricolor)- Orchid Species Profile - YouTube Attachment 121230 Attachment 121231 Attachment 121232 Attachment 121233 Attachment 121234 |
Sweet flowers, hope for a better display for you next time

Cool! How's the scent on this one?

I love mine. It's a reliable bloomer and the fragrance is wonderful and powerful.

Very nice!

One of my favorite orchids! Lost mine several years ago. Will have to try one again some day.

Cool video. Nice info.

Thankyou for the link to that article, found it to be interesting. Curious about the recommendation to divide larger plants ...maybe due to the size of flower show As compared to foliage on a large plant.
I have a prized fulva which has won me an HCC ...it blooms faithfully 2-4 times a year. It grows well for me with little effort...I have therefore recently acquired a few more (like 8) gongoras to see if I can grow them as well. |
