Medusea types, puzzled
I will soon be a new medusea owner, but I am somewhat puzzled by the large amount of crosses, and now I am not so sure about what I bought, exactly. I do not mind having more than one Medusae, but I would like to find the type that is a puffy white flower.
Lion King, is Medusae X Mastersianum Thai Spider is Medusea X Gracillimum I see there is a Medusea X Lilacinm The one I bought is Medusea X Perseus I have not found Bulbophylum "Perseus" anywhere, so I am assuming it is a Medusea cross. So, am I going to have a puffy white flower? A flower with color? A flower with a thinner puff? Do any of you have this cross and can you please post a photo? Thanks!!! Katy. |
Perseus is Bulb. cercanthum x Bulb. mastersianum. LINK to a pic.
Given that it's Perseus x medusae...I'm going to bet that you do end up with that spidery look but it likely won't be a puff-ball like medusae. |
I have a medusae but I have never seen a cross before.

By the way, I like this plant! It is awesome! I just hope the flower is worth it! |
I can't wait to see it. My medusae is really small. I thought looking at pictures of it that it was bigger. Maybe I just have a baby. It is suppose to be blooming size, but I don't think it is.

Darn, the biggest leaf was not actually attached to the main plant! It has a bulb and root, so I guess I will try to grow it into a full sized plant. I hate it when people give you "divisions" that are actually a collection of stems or something. It is still a good sized plant. Now, I guess I have 2 of them.

Sorry about that.

WOW! I can't believe how long it took me to figure out how to get the pictures in the tablet onto the computer!
It sounds silly, but they would get into the computer, and then I would lose the file folder! Well, here is a photo of the new bulbophylum, Medusea X Persius. You can see it is big, but the longest leaf and bulb ended up not to be attached. That is the one that is sideways on the bottom. Either way, it still looks like a really nice plant! http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...pshrvgfgzv.jpg |
It does look like a nice plant. I hope you get it to bloom as I can't hardly wait to see it.
