darkness should be ok, id be more concerned about temperatures. if they don't get too cold or hot they should be ok.

What kind of orchid is it?
In most cases, a green, leafy orchid would probably not react well to darkness for 3 to 4 weeks. You mention tubers, so that might imply a terrestrial orchid that is dormant; I have no experience with such plants, but maybe someone else here can help. |
I don't understand "tubers." Do you have a specific orchid you are thinking of?

I found few orchid that are terrestrial and bought the tubers (bulb) but as I saw dendrobium or phalaenopsis this is the perfect time regarding temperture. Vendors 23 in my country 26 cellsius but the darkness is my problem. A plant must have ligt in order to perform photosynthesis without it it can't create its suger to feed from. Only breath air. So is it to long period to stay in the dark?

That is a very long time for any green plant to stay in darkness. Aren't there any places closer that ship to your country?

When I order within Europe, many times the plants are in their box for 7-10 days. The longest was 2 weeks when the package got delayed, and they were fine (and it was in late spring, so not too hot or too cold). I have no idea about how plants hold up to 3-4 weeks of darkness, but I'd be more concerned about water. If they are shipped wet, they will mold/rot (I've had that happen to orders that took a week to arrive), but if they are shipped on the dry side to avoid problems, then 3-4 weeks is a long time without water.
21-30 days is fine for dormant terrestrial orchids (as logn as they're shipped dry), but I wouldn't order plants. If they make it through they are bound to be pretty beat up. |
