Cattleyas in Bloom
I have these three Cattleyas in bloom. The plants are growing in plastic pots with bark as the media. The plants are grown outside under 50% shade cloth. These are all mericlones that I obtained a few years ago from Kodama Orchid Nursery in Waianae.
The flowers on Potinara Hsinying Pink Doll 'Hsinying' are fragrant and long lasting. The plant will throw a large head of flowers held high above the foliage as it gets older. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5712/...b01534c9_c.jpgPotinara Hsinying Pink Doll 'Hsinying' by Mel Waki, on Flickr Lc. Final Blue 'Royal Purple' is a compact plant that produces a nice head of 4-inch flowers. The plant has C. walkeriana as one of the parents. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5833/...df8a0ea4_c.jpgLaeliocattleya (Lc.) Final Blue 'Royal Purple' by Mel Waki, on Flickr Lc. My Hsinying Pink Doll and Final Blue are blooming now. Yours look much better than mine.
