My first cymbidium...
Just got my first cymbidium today. It was the first time I've ever been in a Trader Joe's and they had a bunch of phals, which I already have too many of, and a few cymbidiums. I've never seen cyms before in person and I really liked the flowers so I grabbed one. Any tips for a new cym owner? Here's some pics of it I took when I got home. I didn't realize how big it was until I took the plastic off, lol. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...bbca7d6ad6.jpg

A gorgeous find :) Congrats. I love the deep pink flowers. It looks great. Lots of new growth. Since it is blooming I would keep it in a bright cooler location of your home and enjoy and then after it is done booming gradually move it outside into the sun when it begins to warm up. Enjoy! :)

Thanks! I'm in western mass so it will be quite a while until it's warm enough to go outside. When it does get warm enough I have a great spot on my front porch for it though. :-)

Great choice and +1 for Nutella :P

That is very pretty! Keep it in a bright area location indoors..it loves the sun. Outdoors later, full sun. I would remove that foil wrapper too, and make sure you have good drainage below.

Yes, Nutella is the best! Luckily that is a box of individual little servings, that way I only eat a little...not the whole jar, lol! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
