highly scented old cattleyas

I've been browsing through old threads lately, and the sticky on scented orchids, combined with the thread on big old floofy catts has made me realize that I must have some big old highly scented catts in my life (orchids, that is -every time I clean the litter box I realize I have more than enough of the feline variety.)
I have decided to find a RLC George King 'serendipity' (pinkish) and a RLC Memoria Crispin Rosales 'Carmela' (purple shades).
Could anyone give me suggestions for a yellow?

Thanks

You've chosen a couple very nice cattleyas. Most of my yellow cattleyas have little or no fragrance. Rlc. George King 'Southern Cross' is a light yellow color and has the same nice fragrance that 'Serendipity' has. I see that you're a member of an orchid society. You might want to ask some of the other members because they may know of fragrant cattleyas that grow well in your area. Good luck.

The big, floofy Cattleyas are wonderful to behold! Good luck!

I do not have one but read that Blc Goldenzelle Lemon Chiffon is good yellow with good growth and nice fragrance.
Bl. Yellow Bird is a nice orchid does not require too much care, blooms a lot and will make a beautiful specimen plant over time. I have this one, not fragrant but I love the look of it's bloom. And my plant (currently in a 4 inch mesh basket)is getting taller with bigger bloom with age. On some cold mornings, I can even pick up very faint, sweet ,lemony scent. You can google this one- plenty of pics.

Blc Marquette's canary

this one is available
Orchids By Hausermann: Blc. Marquette Canary
I have it and it is very fragrant...

I had a feeling it would be hard to find an old floofy standard-size highly scented yellow, since none of the plants I researched from the two lists cited above were in this category. I would be fine with a newer hybrid as long as it was a standard size with a big flower. I saw a picture of a BLC Hawaiian Butterfly 'paradise' flower, but I couldn't find any info on the size of the plant or the flower. Is there a site that would give me this information? Or BLC Hawaiian Butterfly 'carmela"
Thanks

I found a flower size for Hawaiian Butterfly. One says 5", one says 4-6". But how fragrant is" fragrant"?

Thank you for the tip. Marquette's canary looks great. And its nice to hear from a real person that it is truly highly scented.

Orchid society meeting tonight. A member has both the Crispin Rosales and the George King for sale! It was fated to be. Now I just have to mail order the yellow.

Lucky you! I would love to join an orchid club but I don't drive and it's 45 minutes away to go to the meetings, over the other side of the mountains. It can be nasty up there during the winter.
