Nice group of orchids! It is quite amazing how the number of orchids just multiplies.... :)
Very nice!

Very interesting collection of Paphs ;)
Thanks. I got the LED today and rigged it up temporarily. I'll have to get it closer to the plants somehow. 3' away is not helping much... Time to get creative...
Nice collection. I somehow gotta feeling you like Paphs???:-)
I'm partial to paphs... But ctsms also have a place in my heart. I've focused my energy on making my grow space tailored to multifloral paph habit. It just so happens that the ctsms love it as well.

Oh, and the phals kinda like it as well. Two have been in bloom since December and will be for some time to come. My other bloomed w/ 17 flowers in December. Today it has 30 buds. I attribute the jump in production to switching to RO water and K-lite fert. Thanks to Ray from FirstRays for both!

Wow, can't believe all that under one 400w HPS! What's your photoperiod on, and do you ever lengthen/shorten it? Btw I have an HPS ballast but I run a MH conversion bulb in it, and it works great, I'm of the understanding that the blue end of the spectrum is better for vegetative growth.
My photoperiod is about 12 1/2 hrs on right now, I do lengthen and shorten by 2 hrs every year (11-13 on). I also have a window in the room that lets natural light in which gives the plants up to 15 hrs of light in the summer, but it's a south facing window with shadecloth over it so the light is very minimal once the light goes off.
Blue light is better for veg growth. That's why I have the t5s for seedlings. Once they are blooming sized they go under the HPS. Even the NBS plants grow nice leaves there. But my HPS bulb is a SonAgro with enhanced blue. |
