Harbingers of spring
 

Still the Christmas roses dominate the garden. Snowdrops and winter aconite are about to fade. Bright spots under trees are covered with crocuses, visited by early rised bees.
You who suffered from a hard winter may forget the harsh austerities when you take a look at the harbingers of spring.

I can't wait for spring........also have crocuses planted, but we still have snow and rock-solid frozen ground and they are still dormant

I'm afraid my area is still a few weeks and a lot of frozen ground away from any sign of color. It's been a very loooooooooooooooooong Winter...thanks for sharing a bit of your Spring.

Harbingers of spring
 

On the Texas Gulf Coast: I saw the first redbuds blooming today, a magnolia soulangiana, trees whose id I do not know (growing wild), I have daffodils and leucojum (sp?) and other things are showing signs of life.
Here, at least, spring is springing but tomorrow night it is supposed to get down to the low 30's.

One year ago the winter brought snow in october, when the trees still had leaves, and the winter lasted very long. The end of february was 20°C below freezing, and a number of my plants died from cold. Spring came 3-4 weeks later than usual.
This winter is exactly inverted. No snow, for weeks not even frost, the 5th warmth since weather recording started. Last sunday I've seen the first blossoms of almond trees.
And, Tindomul, it makes me feel happy when you consider my words to be poetic. In fact my language can be poetic, and I just translate it the way it comes to my mind. I'd like to be poetic in English, but it is merely an auxiliary language for me. I appreciate your perfectioning.
So I better try to be poetic in my photos.

Here in SE PA by this time last year my Witch Hazel was almost in full bloom, my Naked Jasmine was starting to really get going, and I had the first Snowdrops and Winter Aconite blossoms. I had something in solid bloom outside from late January until mid November. And last winter was far from mild! Currently the Witch Hazel has a few blossoms, and that's it.
