natural hybrid from Venezuela and Colombia, one of those really nice Tulip Orchid. flower is quite big as well.
got this plant a few months back when i visited ecuador, it was supposed to deliver another spike, but the plant fell to the floor and the second spike got aborted. smells good. i cant tell if it is hard or easy to grow, as it is my first ever Anguloa Ruckerii. but i think it should not be harder than clowesii. Very neat, it does remind me of a tulip.

It really looks like the tulip. Does it open more or this is it? Very cute!

Super cool. Mine bloomed for the first time last year, and totally hooked me. I love it.

Very nice plant, and congratulations for your first flower. Your country should provide a good climate for growing Anguloas in areas of higher elevation. Given proper conditions it can be very floriferous.
Ecuagenera has this plant listed as xruckeri, but I doubt this. The coloration is too dark for xruckeri, and the flower is so close to hohenlohii, that I suppose it is in fact hohenlohii. I told this to Alex Portilla. I have bought a similar plant from ecuagenera and posted both xruckeri and hohenlohii in this forum. |
