Phrag. pearcei var. ecuadorense in bloom
2 Attachment(s)
My Phrag. pearcei var. ecuadorense is blooming for me for the first time. I got this a year ago from a friend who was too ill to care for his orchids. After re-potting and treating for scale, it seems to be happy. There are two buds behind the bloom and another spike coming along. This one really likes to be kept wet.

A beauty. Good growing.

The flower is very beautiful. Are you growing this one in cool condition.

That is real nice!

Very pretty! I don't know much about phrags but I've never seen one with narrow leaves like yours. It's a nice looking plant.
|
This is probably the only "must have" Phrag on my list because of its small stature. Yours is really nice!

Thanks everyone. This does have quite a low profile, but it's rhizomes do travel a bit. It's a nice plant tho. From what I read, it needs more moisture than many Phrags and at times in nature is submerged under high flood waters on river banks.

I thought I would add an updated photo of this. It is on the 2nd and 3rd blooms on the first spike with at least 2 more buds coming. The 2nd spike is on its first two blooms and more buds in progress. It only keeps two blooms on the spike at a time. the plant at the moment has 11 or 12 new growths developing as well!

Very Nice Photo too-Love it :)
