Got a terrific deal on an orchid at... Whole Foods of all places
 

I do enjoy shopping at Whole Foods, despite their rather lofty prices compared to other places. All in all, their produce department is excellent. Some locations have a nice floral department as well. Phalaenopsis plants usually abound there, but this past weekend I happened upon a surprising find... non-phalaenopsis orchids for $14.99! I couldn't believe it. And these aren't seedlings, but good sized ones in bloom.

I visited another Whole Foods closer to my home and they didn't have much of a floral section there, so this opportunity will vary by location. Anyway, quite the deal IMHO.

I found a Paphiopedillum hybrid with a tag at WholeFoods....I was amazed to find an orchid with a tag among an array of other NOID orchids....

Yes, Post Pics! I've had good luck at Trader Joe's and now I'll need to look at Whole Foods too :)
