Newbie from New York
Hi There All,
Just wanted to say hi. I have only recently started growing orchids. I sent my son to college in Hawaii and discovered my love for orchids. I am truly a novice and am anxious to learn as much as I can from the knowledgable folks here. :hello |
Great information here. Read, read and read more!

:waving Welcome!!
Don't hesitate to ask questions, that's what we're here for! :) What orchids do you have so far? |

Welcome from another New Yorker! I'm just a little further up the river from you in New Windsor.

Welcome!!! There are so many wonderful and knowledgeable people here, I am sure you have come to the right place to learn! Just remember, the only dumb question is the one not asked, lol...

Thanks to All
Thank you all for your warm welcome!! Bill, New Windsor isn't far from here at all. When my son deployed to Iraq as a medic in 2010, we sent him off from Stewart Airport.
I currently have 14 orchids. 6 are phaleonopsis varieties, 3 cattleya, 2 dendrobium and the others I'm not even sure. I'm interested in learning all that I can about taking good care of my beauties. So far I seem to be very good at keeping my plants healthy and not so great at getting them to rebloom. One of my phaleonopsis is in rebloom right now, but I'd love to spread the magic around a little more. I look forward to learning from all of you experienced folks. Mary |
Welcome! This is the place to learn, but be warned that orchids are addicting. I believe that they use us in a symbiotic relationship. If you are having problems reblooming phals, it is usually not enough of a drop in night temps.
