Orchid Dominated Terrarium
 

Decided to tear down a fish tank (well ... the seam had sprung a leak) and set up a terrarium for some of my favorite orchids. Took exactly 5 hours and 15 minutes to set up. All I need now is the cork background, and a fogger/ misting system and of course some sort of insect/ amphibian to go with it! I plan to get a trio of poison dart frogs (only worry is that they could damage the orchids) or a pair of orchid mantis. At this moment, I'm leaning towards the latter.

Plant list:

Dendrophylax lindenii
Sophronitis Coccinea
Tolumnia 'Genting Angel' (X2)
Psychopsiella limminghei
Dendrophylax funalis
NOID masdevallia

The only other thing I might add a bulbophyllum moniliforme once the weather warms up to place an order.

Franco - The only problem that I can see you having is with the Tolumnia 'Genting Angel'. Tolumnia are twig epiphytes and need to dry out completely between waterings, growing them with Dendrophylax and Masdevallia, you won't beable to do that. I love the piece of wood you are using.

That is the 1st ghost orchid bud I've ever seen doing so well in captivation.. Great job!

I have the tolus mounted to where I can water everything around them and keep them moderately dry.... These are divisions that I wanted to experiment with. If they show any stress I will remove them.

That looks good! Is that Dendrophylax that is spiking lindenii or funalis? Where did you get the funalis from? I have one of my own about that big and I haven't seen anyone else growing them!!
