Odontociduim Burgundian leaves..dehydrated?
 

I had another question -- on a separate plant: Odoncidium Burgundian ' #2' .

This plant seems to be a robust grower, with new grow growth taking place after this past summer bloom, BUT the leaves look wavy and dimpled? Any idea why this is the case? I have included an image below so you can actually see what I am trying to explain.

My first thought was that it needed more water -- but I am hesitate to give water more than once per week? Any thought suggestions?

Man, I feel like my plants get super dried out in the Winter (due to the heat) versus the summer -- even with a humidifier going. :((

Maybe I need to water everything a bit more frequently in the winter because of the heat?

I did not see your picture, but if your leaves are wrinkled/wavey the plant is dehydrating either from lack of being watered or poor roots.
When was the last time you checked roots and how fresh is the potting medium?

THat is my fault -- I thought I attached the picture. I repotted the plant with fresh mix after it was done blooming this past summer. I am watering once per week -- I am thinking to start watering it twice per week and see if that does anything?

If the roots looked good when you repotted it, I would certainly give it more water. Wrinkled leaves means the plant isn't getting enough moisture.

Thanks for the responses ...I am go gin to bump up to watering twice per week and monitor the progress.

Jared, just wanted to add one thing. The leaves wrinkled means the plant was not getting enough water while the leaves were developing. They will remain wrinkled even after the lack of water issue is resolved. Good luck! :)

Thanks Gage -- Good to know and saved me posting again explaining that the extra watering did not help with the current leaves. :biggrin:

This will be the first week I plan to water twice.
