is this an orchid ?

im fairly new to orchids in general let alone identifying one in the wild, could anyone tell me if this is an orchid or not ?

I would say yes, the leaves look it to me, but I don't know exactly what it is.

It appears to be an orchid but location, etc., would help a great deal in suggesting at least a possible id. Is it in the USA or elsewhere? If in the US is it in Florida? Would assume it is since epiphytic orchids are quite rare outside the state.

yes this is down in copeland,fl.

Epidendrum conopseum "The Green Fly Orchid"
the stem and the staggered blade like cattleya shaped leaves, epiphytic... http://www.orchidboard.com/community...m-dscn5976.jpg |
Definitely an Epidendrum (Epi. for short). Not sure which species.
Epi. nocturnum is also found in FL. IOSPE PHOTOS |
epi conopseum is pretty small. I thougt noctounrum, as soon as i saw it, but without bloms, that's a shot in the dark.

An orchid for sure. It does look about right for Epi. nocturnum, but I think there are a couple other possibilities. We probably can't be precise without a picture with flowers.

ok thanks for all the input,i will continue to go out and take pics of them.

Epidendrum nocturnum for sure. Where they found in the Fakahatchee Strand?
