Paph. 'Macabre' first rebloom!!
1 Attachment(s)
YES!!!! My one Paph. finally has a bud!!! I love it just for the foliage, but I've been waiting for over 2 years and was starting to worry. But I came home from college for Christmas break and found this!
Attachment 51725 I thought I was patient, but this guy really pushed me to the limit. It grows so slow, but I'm so happy to see it spiking again! I haven't seen it bloom since I brought it home February of 2008! It will probably be ready to bloom around February this time too, so I'll have to rely on my parents to send me pictures of the open bloom. I would take it with me, but the climate difference between home in western Washington and where I go to school in eastern Washington would probably cause bud blast. And a dorm room in Pullman, Washington isn't a very good climate for a Paph. anyways, unless you have a greenhouse. Anyways, I'm so happy to see it spiking! I'll post picks as it develops while I'm home (and I'll post my parents pics of the mature blooms when it opens). |
Congratulations! And you are right, even just the foliage is lovely. Hope you'll post the pics of the blooms.

Nice one! :D

Congratulations. I have some really slow growing paphs as well, they really do push your patience don't they... but such a thrill when you finally see a bud.

Thanks for the comments everyone! Sorry I didn't say so sooner. I lost track of a few things.
I came home for spring break to find my lovely dark beauty fully open in all her glory. There's one other unbloomed fan but it looks like that one is getting another leaf rather than a bud. I need to get more of these gorgeous orchids! I just hope I don't become a psychopaph! Attachment 54186 Attachment 54187 Attachment 54188 Attachment 54189 |
